Text

For my project I want to incorporate text from the song "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver. It's a song about losing someone, and wanting them to move on and get everything together. I would use the words to complete my whole idea of slowing down. The song lyrics carry with them an emotional and angry context that I think could compliment the eerie picture of my hand very well. The line I think would fit best is:
"I'm breaking at the britches, and at the end of all your lines"
The anger in the text is there, but then there's also a play between the lines in the text and the lines in the oven supporting my fragile fingertips. I may just end up using "I'm at the end of all your lines." Another important thing about this text is that it uses a pronoun, which I thought was important in acheiving my goal. The pronoun also further links my work to the Barbara Kruger's style which is my hope.
The only other lines I've considered are the refrain lines:
"I told you to be patient. I told you to fine. I told you to be balanced. I told you to be kind."
There's a commanding presence there that's been betrayed or ignored, and that's what I like so much about these words.
