I came up with three different ways to go about my scar and body project. I really like all three, but maybe you would suggest something different? They are all clearly Barbara Kruger inspiered. The first has a double meaning: "Because of you love is lies" and "You love lies". I wanted to do a clever play on words because Kruger tends to do that as well. This one only attacks the world/society while the other two attack the world/society and myself. I believe that the idea of love does not exist in our society with so much infidelitiy and unfaithfulness that exists. I find that society would gawk at me for this idea of being madly in love and call me naive. Yet, I end up proving society right. Therefore, I am also making fun of myself. I hope that makes sense...
I especially like the last two. The second one I like how you turned the text box around, and the text is quite strong which works well, since the photograph is quite delicate. It's a nice contrast. The third one, I like the text you used because it reminds me of Jenny Holzer's truisms.
ReplyDeleteI really like the third picture because I feel it embraces Kruger the most. The text is short and frank, but effective in making the viewer think. Good job!
